The Mythical Land of Ohnduk

I just got Violet dressed.

She protested.

“No!” she said. “I’m Ohnduk!”

“You’re name is Ohnduk and that’s why you can’t get dressed?”

“No, Ohnduk is my people.”

“Your PEOPLE?”

“Yes. My people. Ohnduk is far, far away. In the hot, hot sun. By the beach. And there are sharks.”

“Sounds like Australia.”

“And there’s a bad tiger.”

“Why is he bad?”

“He eats elephants. And kittens.”

“That is a bad tiger. C’mon, let’s get dressed.”

“No! My people don’t wear underwear.”

Fantastic. In the real and sarcastic senses.

I guess “Ohnduk” is her version of my “Haustria.” Not Austria, mind you. Back in the day, it was all about “Haustria”.

  1. LALA says:

We should a make a family map of all of our mythical lands with sketches about the creatures that live there.

Good idea, L. I’m imagining production values not *quite* as good as the Game Of Thrones title sequence, though.
